What is Caldicot Goes Pop! ?

It is a new style of pop up shop, utilising empty town centre shops in Caldicot, refurbishing them and renting out space to local home businesses, Small and Medium enterprises (SME’s) and those who are looking to start up a business.

Who runs Caldicot Goes Pop!?

The project is run entirely by volunteers from its parent Community Interest Company (CIC’s) Caldicot Town Team. Directors of CTT oversee the management of the project, takes bookings, promotes participating businesses and are keyholders.

How long can I rent space for?

Space or even the unit can be rented for anytime from one day up to a maximum of two weeks, weeks run from Monday – Sunday.

Why is the limit two weeks on rental?

The reason we have limited rental to 2 weeks is for two main reasons. 1, We want to make sure that there is a regular turnover of businesses in the town centre, this will increase the number of trips consumers make to the town centre, which will also increase the vibrancy and vitality of the town. 2, We dont want businesses to overcommit themselves. Two weeks trading will give businesses an idea of whether their business is likely to be viable, if it is, we are able to negotiate short term tenancies with landlords (from 3 – 12 months) within the town centre.

How many businesses will be in the pop up shop at the same time?

We have 3 areas available for businesses to rent, along with some wall space for local artists to display their wares.

How much space can i rent?

Our rental spaces are 18ft x 6ft in size, you can rent this, or if you would rather, you can rent the whole unit. (Excluding Wall Space)
